Benefiting from rich agricultural land, easy transport and fishing, etc., more people are moving to live in coastal areas, with than 200 million now living areas that vulnerable extreme sea level events. Sea information is useful for societies. Image measurement rapidly developing as a new type of tool. A multicamera-based monitoring system along Japan’s coast near the Pacific proposed this paper, long-distance wave matching method described. The whole employs multiple binocular vision systems take surface images obtain height based on disparity between field views left right cameras, forming local overall analysis system. requires high processing accuracy speed realize timely response Thus, paper extracts waves integrates wave’s appearance features feature points descriptors pioneers idea searching deterministic fast image processing. average stereo precision up 89.9% running time smaller 40 ms most pairs images.
